Last week, Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP visited St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, which is part of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust (BKCAT).
The VIP visitor was warmly received by BKCAT CEO Lesley Fitton, Parish Priest and Acting Chair of the Academy Council Fr Tim Wiley, and Head Teacher Michaela Velayudhan Tomlin, who said:
‘Yvette met our wonderful children and staff and toured our school. She enjoyed chatting to pupils about their learning, answering their questions, watching the girls participate in the ‘LetGirlsPlay’ initiative (through the Football Association) and chatting to our committed team.’
‘She was really impressed with our school – a well-deserved recognition for the children, staff and school. It was an absolute pleasure to have her visit us and we look forward to welcoming her back to St Joseph’s!’
