John Moran, Financial Secretary
John joined the Diocese of Leeds in February 2016 having gained extensive accounting and general management experience in the commercial sector, including 10 years with Alliance and Leicester Bank. He is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the finances of the Diocese working with HSBC and our Auditors, Saffery Champness.

Anna Larkin, Financial Accountant
Anna has worked in the Finance Department since February 2016. Anna oversees the recording of financial information in parishes on the OPAS system and its integration into the Consolidated Financial Statements for Leeds Diocesan Trust. Anna works particularly closely on finance matters relating to Leeds Cathedral and St Patrick’s Mission and leads on grant and fundraising for Parishes, Diocesan Agencies and the Curia.

Louise Ward, Gift Aid Administrator
Louise has worked for the Diocese since March 1988. She started as secretary to the Property Office and joined the Finance Department in 1991.
Louise is the primary contact for Gift Aid in the Diocese, frequently visiting parishes and giving presentations at Masses to promote Gift Aid and giving as well as assisting parishes in processing their claims to HMRC. Louise is well respected in this field, being Secretary to the National Gift Aid Conference and also the Gift Aid Administrator for the Diocese of Hallam.
Louise provides administrative and secretarial support to her colleagues in Finance as well as other departments in the Curia. She is one of the editors of the Diocesan Year Book.

Catherine Walker, Assistant Financial Accountant
Catherine originally joined the Diocese in 2010. She began as a volunteer in the Education Department before becoming a permanent employee in 2012. In 2016, Catherine joined the Finance Department where she is the Accountant for the Diocese’s Pastoral and Conference Centre at Hinsley Hall and maintains the accounts for the Curia’s departments.

Peter Grady, Assistant Accountant
Pete joined the Finance Department in December 2023, having had over 30 years of experience working in large corporate organisations such as Asda, O2, BT and Openreach. Pete works 3 days a week and is the main contact for day-to-day parish finances; supporting parishes to submit their quarter end and year returns as well as providing OPAS support and training throughout the year. Pete is also involved in the preparation of management accounts for Hinsley Hall.

Thomas Doherty, Grants and Fundraising Officer
After working in the marketing sector, I started working in the charity sector in Bradford, before joining the Diocese in October 2023. As Grants and Fundraising Officer, I’m responsible for coordinating the preparation and submission of small to medium grant/Trust applications, supporting Parishes with fundraising and leading on the implementation of Digital Giving Methods.
