Kim Leadbeater’s assisted suicide Bill is now at Committee Stage. This is where a group of 23 MPs will examine the Bill in detail.
The Committee will begin considering evidence on 28 January 2025 and has recently issued a call for written evidence, inviting people with relevant expertise or personal experience to submit evidence about the Bill and its proposals.
IF you have the appropriate expertise or personal experience, it is really important that you submit evidence. While there is no set deadline, we strongly advise doing so as soon as you can.
To help people with relevant experience or expertise to do this, Right to Life UK has brought out a very helpful Guide on how to submit written evidence to the Committee considering the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill
It is very important that the many risks and flaws with the Bill are brought to the attention of the Committee. By highlighting these concerns, we will help MPs understand the major problems with introducing assisted suicide and why they must vote against the Bill when it comes to Third Reading later in the year. So, even if you’re not in a position to submit evidence, there’s still every reason to write to your own MP convincing them to vote ‘NO’ to assisted suicide.
