Survivors’ Safeguarding Survey from the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA)

The Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) is undertaking a thematic audit, specifically of survivor engagement across all church bodies in England and Wales.

The CSSA’s work is informed by the suffering of those who have been affected by Church-related abuse or as a result of activities within the Catholic Church. The CSSA seeks to work with survivors – collaboratively, respectfully, and in a spirit of shared ambition – to prevent future harm.

As of this month (August 2025) the CSSA is actively seeking insight, through both formal and informal means, from those who have lived experience of abuse, and is carrying out a public call for information.  This is an opportunity for anybody with information to share with the CSSA. You can remain anonymous if you wish.

To find out more about the CSSA’s current public call for information, and how you can complete a survey, please visit their dedicated webpage HERE

Safeguarding is Everybody’s Business!

Safeguarding really is everybody’s business, and anyone perceiving the danger of immediate or imminent harm to a child or vulnerable person should of course call the Police on 999 – but for all other concerns, queries or enquiries in the Diocese of Leeds, our Safeguarding Team has its own pages on the Diocesan Website and is available to provide advice and support whenever it is needed. The Team is based at Hinsley Hall, 62 Headingley Lane Leeds LS6 2BX and may be contacted by telephone via 0113 261 8046 and by emailing safeguarding@dioceseofleeds.org.uk
