Pope Leo has called for ‘an immediate halt to the barbarity of war’. In solidarity with the Holy Father, the CAFOD Campaigns Team makes this heartfelt plea:
‘The pain and suffering in Gaza is reverberating around the world. Distressing news and images bear witness to the unfathomable horrors of war.
More than 18,000 children have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the war;
that’s an average of 28 children a day!
That the UK is considering recognition of a Palestinian state shows that public pressure works – but words should be backed up by concrete measures. The UK Government needs to take decisive action to uphold international law and to work towards a just peace for all.’
