The children of St Urban’s Primary School in Leeds have collected £3,500 for the Little Sisters of the Poor urgent appeal towards the development of a new Mount St Joseph’s Care Home in Headingley. On Friday 3 May they gathered at the school with their Parish Priest, Canon Gerard Kearney, to present a cheque for this amount to Sr Christina LSP. There is a strong connection between the parish and the Little Sisters of the Poor as Mount St Joseph’s is located in the parish, which in turn is dedicated to St Jeanne Jugan, the founder of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
