St Gemma’s Hospice – Precious Time Appeal

On Sunday 21 and Monday 22 April, St Gemma’s Hospice will be running a new 36 hour fundraising initiative called the Precious Time Appeal. Every pound donated during the 36 hour window between midnight on Sunday 21 April and midnight on Monday 22 April will be doubled by major donors.

That means, if someone gives £10 it will be turned into £20!

As a Patron of St Gemma’s Hospice, Bishop Marcus is asking all members of our Diocesan Family to consider supporting this Appeal. The Hospice is keen to engage with its supporters in the Catholic community and suggests that in addition to giving, people might also wish to support the campaign in one or more of the following ways:

  1. Individuals becoming a Champion for the campaign – this would involve asking people you know to donate to St Gemma’s during the 36-hour appeal.
  2. Catholic parishes fundraising for the Appeal by holding a retiring collection for St Gemma’s or running an event. The Hospice is happy to follow up with any parish which is interested in doing this.
  3. Promote the campaign through parish newsletters, websites, and social media.

For more details of how to help either as an individual or as a parish, please visit: https://www.st-gemma.co.uk/precious-time-appeal/.

Please join the Hospice Patron, Bishop Marcus, in spreading the word: by contacting your community, friends and family, and fundraising in other ways such as traditional bucket collections, bake sales, a parish retiring collection, or any similar events…

St Gemma’s Hospice has already received pledges from major donors of over £100,000 to use during this 36 hour period and they will match every pound you raise during that 36-hour ‘window’ – so please donate between midnight 21 and midnight 22 April to ‘double the money’!
