NEW Lectionary & NEW Training Videos for Readers!

Bishop Marcus has taken the launch of the new Lectionary as an opportunity to commission some ‘refresher training’ for all who fulfil the Ministry of Reader – whether laity or clergy.

The Bishop asked Fr Mark Jarmuz of the Vicariate for Education and Diocesan Director of Communications Rowan Morton-Gledhill to write and produce a series of three short videos to form a simple and concise guide and to provide some useful “DOs and DON’Ts” for laity who perform this ministry at Mass.

Particular thanks go to Year of the Word Scripture Champion Fr Henry Longbottom and to Fr Simon Winn for their help in making these videos. The training resources were filmed and edited by videographer Sammie Rose, on location in Leeds Trinity University Chapel.

The new Lectionary comes into use next weekend, the First Sunday of Advent  – and from Sunday 24 November, all three videos (the first two for laity, the third for clergy) will be easily accessible via our YouTube channel, www.LeedsCathedralLive.org.uk

Descriptions of all three videos, plus a few useful “DOs and DON’Ts” for laity undertaking this important ministry, are in the following two-page document, which is being circulated to all parishes:

In-person training for parishes may be booked via communications@dioceseofleeds.org.uk
