Mgr Summersgill appointed Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia.

Bishop Marcus has appointed Mgr Andrew Summersgill as Moderator of the Curia and a Vicar General.

In announcing the appointment the Bishop said, “I am very grateful to Mgr Summersgill for his generosity and willingness to take on this role in addition to his parochial office and other diocesan responsibilities. For the last six years, Mgr Paul Fisher has carried the burden of exercising the many responsibilities of Vicar General alone, as well as having oversight of the administration of the Curial offices. With this new appointment, Mgr Fisher will continue as Vicar General to provide support to me and the clergy of the diocese, and Mgr Summersgill will co-ordinate the exercise of the administrative duties and provide oversight of the Curia as Moderator”.

Mgr Summersgill was formerly Private Secretary to Bishop David Konstant and has served as General Secretary of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. He has been Parish Priest of St Stephen’s, Skipton since 2011.
