Bishop Marcus Leads Diocesan May Events

Signs that our Diocesan Calendar is getting back to normal after the period of the Covid-19 pandemic came with three events which took place during the second week of May.

The Good Shepherd Presentation 2022 took place at Leeds Cathedral on Friday 13 May as students and staff from schools across the Diocese gathered for the Good Shepherd Celebration, presided over by Bishop Marcus who was presented with the proceeds of the annual Lenten Good Shepherd Collection in support of Catholic Care.

The following day the Cathedral was the venue for the annual Mass for Married Couples who are celebrating their 25th, 40th, 50th, and 60th  Marriage Anniversary during the course of the year. Mass  was celebrated by Bishop Marcus and the couples had the opportunity to renew their marriage vows.

On Sunday 15 May the Diocesan Eucharistic Procession was held in the grounds of Mount St Joseph’s Home and Hinsley Hall, in Headingley. The participants assembled in the grounds of Mount St Joseph’s, where Mother Caroline LSP expressed her welcome to everyone on behalf of the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Blessed Sacrament was carried in procession to an altar erected in front of the main entrance of Hinsley Hall where Bishop Marcus gave Benediction.
