Lourdes: Join Our Spiritual Pilgrimage 3 to 7 July 2021

Once again, although unable to travel on our Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, Bishop Marcus, Lourdes Diocesan Pilgrimage Director Fr Phillip Hall and our newly-appointed Executive Manager for the Pilgrimage, Kim O’Connor are pleased to welcome you to our Spiritual Pilgrimage.

Join us from Saturday 3 July to Wednesday 7 July when in addition to online celebrations of Mass and Devotions from the Blessed Grotto via https://www.lourdes-france.org/en/tv-lourdes/  there will be a special Mass at Leeds Cathedral dedicated to the Lourdes Pilgrimage, which will be celebrated at 11am on Sunday 4 July, and can be accessed online via www.LeedsCathedralLive.org.uk

This year, pilgrims can also meet in person: at 3pm on Sunday 4 July, praying the Rosary in the Grotto at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Moortown, will be followed by Mass.

Together with Diocese of Leeds Youth Director, Fr Marc Homsey, Kim has put together this year’s schedule of events for our Spiritual Pilgrimage, which is available here – but at any time, though, we can all join Lourdes Pilgrims in making this Prayer:

O ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy,
Health of the Sick, Refuge of Sinners, Comforter of
the Afflicted, you know my wants, my troubles, my
sufferings. Look upon me with mercy. When you
appeared in the grotto of Lourdes, you made it a
privileged sanctuary where you dispense your
favours, and where many sufferers have obtained the
cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with unbounded confidence to
implore your maternal intercession. My loving
Mother, obtain my request. I will try to imitate your
virtues so that I may one day share your company
and bless you in eternity. Amen.
