Bishop’s Message to our Neighbours in the Jewish Community

In the wake of yesterday’s attack on Manchester’s Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, Bishop Marcus asks that we continue to pray for peace – and against all forms and expressions of religious hatred. The Bishop has sent the following message to leaders of West Yorkshire’s Jewish communities, expressing his personal condolences …:

‘Following the horrific attack yesterday at the synagogue in Manchester, I want to express to you, and through you to all the members of the Jewish community in Leeds, my most sincere sympathy for those who were killed and my concern for those who were harmed.

As Bishop of the Diocese of Leeds, I stand in solidarity with you, and I pray for the assistance of faith for those who mourn, for those who were injured, and for all who have been affected by this terrible event.

Please be assured of my fraternal concern and support for my brothers and sisters in the Jewish community.’

The Rt Revd Marcus Stock
Bishop of Leeds.
