Welcome to Our Newest Priest!

On Saturday 1 July at Leeds Cathedral the Bishop ordained Paul Moores to the Sacred Priesthood, for service in the Diocese of Leeds. Fr Paul studied for the priesthood in Rome, initially at the Venerable English College and then at the Pontifical Beda College. Both colleges were represented at the Ordination, and they were joined by Fr Paul’s parents and family and friends, and many parishioners from the parishes in the diocese where he had been on placement as part of his training.

The following day, Sunday 2 July, Fr Paul returned to his home parish of the Sacred Heart and St William at Uppermill, to celebrate his First Mass. After the summer holidays he will take up his first appointment in the diocese, as Assistant Priest at St Robert’s Church in Harrogate.

Many congratulations to Fr Paul!

Ad multos annos!
