With all the talk of staycations and no immediate chance of a holiday in the middle of term, the Science Club at Holy Family School took matters into their own hands!
‘If we can’t see the sea we will make a wave machine!’ they told their teacher – and set to with skewers and gaffer tape to make a framework.
Their desire for waves was so great they even sacrificed sweets to act as weights!
Jen Brewer, science teacher at Holy Family School and organiser of the Club said, ‘They worked really hard this evening on what was a very repetitive task balancing up each arm of the wave. It worked magnificently though. If they retain their enthusiasm, willingness to solve problems and persistence they will do well in science.’
