On Friday 26 July, we learned with great sadness of the death in St Gemma’s Hospice of Sr Anne Hammersley CP. May she rest in peace.
For many years Sr Anne was the Retreat Director of The Briery Retreat Centre in Ilkley. During the course of her religious life and ministry in the Diocese of Leeds, she worked as an Assistant Chaplain at Leeds Trinity University and a Vocations Guide. Sr Anne also worked with the Diocesan Youth Service in Lourdes and was a Trustee of St Gemma’s Hospice.
Please pray for the repose of Sr Anne’s soul as we also remember her Religious Sisters of the Cross and Passion, her family, and her friends in our prayers at this time.
Sr Anne’s Funeral Mass will take place at The Briery on Monday 2 September (the birthday of Venerable Elizabeth Prout) at 10:30am, followed by interment at Ilkley Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
