After successfully going ‘online’ with Jonathan Rennert’s Monday Lunchtime Recital (still available to hear via our Leeds International Organ Festival You Tube Channel, www.lioflive.org.uk ) David Pipe, Leeds Cathedral Organist and Festival Artistic Director, has begun a new series of podcasts called (appropriately enough!) Pipe Up!
The first of these is with former Leeds Assistant Organist, Daniel Justin. Daniel is now Director of Music for the Diocese of East Anglia, and Master of the Music at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norwich.
Daniel’s LIOF recital at 1.15pm on Monday 18th May features tracks from his 2015 recording of Edward Elgar’s complete original music for organ. An acclaimed composer and improviser himself, Daniel discusses some of the influences behind his Elgar recording, as well as his passion for Gregorian chant.
