Saturday 20 December saw the annual Live Nativity Service at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Crossgates.
The first ever live Nativity was instituted by St Francis of Assisi in the C13th, so it is appropriate that this annual event is organised by the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal.
The church was packed for the service, which included carols and was followed by a children’s party, with games and an early visit from Father Christmas!
‘Mary’ was carried to the stable on the back of a real donkey, who, with its ‘donkey-work’ done at Corpus Christi, had to leave for another seasonal engagement before the photo-call!
