Annual Diocesan Walking Pilgrimage for Vocations ‘In Father Brown’s Footsteps’

March 28 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
FREE

Walk our Third Annual Lenten Pilgrimage for Vocations ‘In Fr Brown’s Footsteps’!

Follow the route taken from Keighley to Ilkley over the Roman road across Ilkley Moor in March 1904 by GK Chesterton and the ‘real’ Father Brown, Diocese of Leeds priest Fr John O’Connor!

The Pilgrimage begins with 8am Holy Mass at St Anne’s Catholic Church in Keighley; a stop for packed lunches at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ilkley; ends with Stations of the Cross at Myddelton Calvary, Ilkley; and, in common with all our sustainable walking pilgrimages, both ends of the route are close to reliable public transport –  Keighley and Ilkley Railway Stations.

It’s a fully risk assessed walk, so all pilgrims are asked to sign up by contacting: pilgrimage-walks@dioceseofleeds.org.uk

Whether you’re able to walk the route, or meet us up at Sacred Heart or Myddelton Calvary, we can ALL join with Bishop Marcus in Praying for Vocations!

Our Lady of Unfailing Help! Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send labourers into His harvest and that He will grant an abundance of vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life within the Diocese of Leeds, and throughout the world. Amen.
