In this Year of St Francis of Assisi, parishioners at St Mary’s in Knaresborough have been getting busy outdoors, caring for their church building and garden!

At their recent ‘Spring Garden Tidy’ many ‘green-fingered’ hands made light work of pruning, sweeping and filling bags for the tip!

Energetic parishioners have also been stepping up – and stepping out – to fund-raise toward restoring the church building and repairing the roof. So far the amount the parish has raised is £60,000 towards the £250,000 Appeal – and during the Easter holidays, young parishioners Matthew and Isaac swelled the coffers by another £500 with a sponsored walk along the beautiful Nidderdale Way!
