Archbishop John Wilson’s Silver Jubilee

On Wednesday 29 July Archbishop John Wilson, the Archbishop of Southwark, celebrates the twenty fifth anniversary of his ordination as a priest, his Silver Jubilee. In the evening of the 29th he will be celebrating Mass in St George’s Cathedral, Southwark at 7pm. The Mass will be livestreamed via the Southwark Diocesan YouTube Channel, and will be accessible via the following link: https://youtu.be/ljRkwUnz2ZA

Due to current restrictions it is not possible for Archbishop John to celebrate his Jubilee in person with family, friends, former parishioners and people from the different dioceses in which he has served over the past quarter of a century.

Archbishop John was ordained to the prieshood in 1995 by the late Bishop David Konstant and, of course, spent the next twenty years as a priest of the Diocese of Leeds where he still has many friends and from where we send him heartfelt congratulations and prayers on this special anniversary.

Archbishop John has expressed the hope that the livestream Mass will enable many people to join him in thanking God for the gift of priesthood and the many other gifts that the Almighty has given to him.
