On Wednesday 22 June high school students from St Mary’s Menston, St John Fisher Harrogate and All Saints Huddersfield came together at Hinsley Hall for a Lourdes Taster Day in order to mark this year’s pilgrimage. The day consisted of fun and games, Mass celebrated by Fr John Carlisle (Chaplain at All Saints), and a Marian procession around the grounds of Hinsley Hall.
There was a chance for everyone to write down any intentions they had and these will be taken to the Grotto in Lourdes by Jessica and Ryan from the Youth Service, during the Diocesan Pilgrimage next month. The day ended by looking at a quote from St John Henry Newman about being a ‘link in a chain’. Everyone wrote their name on a strip of paper, which will also be taken to Lourdes, and will be added to the names of each member of the youth section and turned into a large paper chain representing our Lourdes Youth 2022 family.
