Oxford Professor to speak at next Life Transfigured on 12 July

Next month the Diocese of Leeds welcomes Mark Wynn who is Nolloth Professor in the Philosophy of the Christian Religion at the University of Oxford.

Professor Wynn has been invited to present the next in our “Life Transfigured” series.  Organised by the Vicariate for Education, these monthly talks examine the interaction between Faith and the different Arts.  So far the worlds of fine art, architecture, theatre, dance, and music have been covered.  Next up is an exploration of philosophical questions.

The title of Professor Wynn talk is “The Aesthetic experience in the Christian life” and he will examine ways in which a person’s religious commitment impacts on their bodily and emotional experience of life.  The event will take place at Wheeler Hall, Leeds Cathedral on Tuesday 12th July, 7-8pm.
