Pro-Life Pilgrimage to Walsingham

It was a glorious day that greeted Pilgrims from across Bradford and Leeds, on the Annual Pro-Life Pilgrimage to Walsingham, for the Feast of the Annunciation. Leeds People for Life were delighted to be joined and led in prayer by the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal throughout the journey. What a joyful, blessed day!

Following the Pilgrim Mass, Bishop Alan Hopes, Bishop of East Anglia, led the congregation in the solemn Act of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

After lunch and Holy Hour, the group walked the Holy Mile and prayed outside the Russian Orthodox Church, before congregating at the site of the Holy House for prayers of thanksgiving and quiet reflection, on this very special Feast Day.

The day concluded with a service of Penance, Rosary and Act of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in the Piazza of the Catholic Parish Church of the Annunciation. The service was led by priests, ministers and laity from the various Christian churches in Walsingham.

It was a wonderful public witness in Walsingham Village and a very fitting end to the Pilgrimage. For details of future Leeds People for Life Pilgrimages, please contact Kate on 07505 76 74 15. Many thanks!
