Castleford’s Catholic and Anglican parishes are to come together for an ecumenical service entitled: Mary, Mother of the Church: Hope for Ecumenism.
The service will take place at St Paul the Apostle Church, Glasshoughton at 6pm on Sunday 26 May.
Over the statue of Our Lady which stands in St Paul’s Church is the Veil of the Passchendaele Madonna. It was brought from Passchendaele one hundred years ago this year and given to the church by a returning Castleford soldier.
