STUDENTS! Planning a professional singing career? – or just want to sing the world’s most beautiful Sacred Music and earn a little while you learn a lot?
YOU can become a Choral Scholar at Leeds Cathedral and be part of our Cathedral services and broadcasts!
Choral Scholarships worth up to £2,000 a year give students at universities within travelling distance of Leeds the opportunity to sing with one of the country’s finest Cathedral Choirs and broadcast regularly on BBC Radio and Television’s flagship sacred music programmes and services.
Our Choral Scholarships offer superb opportunities for ambitious students looking to develop a range of professional-level musical skills. Leeds Cathedral Choir is acknowledged as one of the finest in the country and sings daily services, with the Choral Scholars singing on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
‘I’d never really sung much early music before, so to come to a choir where Josquin, Tallis and Monteverdi are part of the diet has been a revelation. My sight-singing and choral confidence has improved beyond measure and I’ve subsequently started coaching some of the choristers in the wider programme.’ TD, Choral Scholar
