The Church that Follows Jesus Christ

by Fr. Mark Jarmuz

The three centuries – the first centuries of the Church – between the time of Jesus, and Nicea, are fascinating, and more relevant to us and to our faith than we imagine. They forged the Faith to which we still hold true today, and they began a process of questioning, prayer and reflection on the person of Jesus and the nature of God which guided and inspired the great Christian writings of later centuries, from Jerome to Augustine, and Julian of Norwich to Hildegard of Bingen: the Word of God as not just words but as inspiration.

This six-session course explores the Faith of the early Church, the struggles and questions which led to the first ecumenical Council of Nicea 325CE. It is suitable for individual study, or for groups meeting online, and can be freely adapted to your needs.
