Revelation is our monthly Youth Event for young people Y8-13 that takes place on a Thursday evening at Hinsley Hall from October – June.
Young people in our schools and parishes from across the Diocese gather together for an evening of games, prayer, music, discussion and much more as we take on different themes to challenge ourselves and each other on our journey of faith. It has actually been running for about 15 years!
You can see all of this year’s dates in the calendar below. We hope you can join us!
Through the Wardrobe Summer Camp
Through the Wardrobe is our weeklong summer camp centred around the Narnian Virtues that takes place at Savio House Retreat Centre.
The aim of the camp is to provide a holiday for young people in Year 7, whilst building faith, character, confidence and positive self-esteem. The camp brings together 30 young people from 3 schools for 5 days of fun activities, challenges and community time including: canoeing, archery, water activities and a day trip.
The camp is led and run by us and a team of experienced, safely recruited volunteers.
Pilgrims from across the Diocese travel down to Walsingham for the Annual Diocese of Leeds pilgrimage. Known as the Nazareth of England, Walsingham is a holy and beautiful place to visit and spend time in prayer with other pilgrims.
Each year we offer the opportunity for young people in our high schools to have an extended pilgrimage, gathering together on the Friday evening for games and activities, prayer stations and adoration in the parish church, and social time. On the Saturday morning we head to the Shrine for morning prayer and some input on Walsingham and its history, before joining the pilgrimage programme.
Each year Bishop Marcus leads the Diocese of Leeds Eucharistic Procession around the grounds of Mount St Joseph and Hinsley Hall.
The procession is open to all and sees clergy, religious, families and individuals from across the Diocese come together for an afternoon of prayer and fellowship. The celebration continues after the procession with some social time, a BBQ and lawn games for all to enjoy.
The Twelve, the Diocese of Leeds Youth Leadership Team, have supported the procession by leading one of the reflections.
FLAME is the largest Catholic youth event in England & Wales which takes place at Wembley Arena every 2 years.
Thousands of young people from across the country gather together for thousands for a day of music, prayer, worship, talks from great speakers and much more! In 2023, 4 coaches of young people travelled to Wembley Arena for FLAME looking at the theme of Rise Up.
The next FLAME will be taking place on Saturday 15th March 2025 and we’ll be there! Stay tuned for details of how you could join the Diocese of Leeds group.
World Youth Day
World Youth Day is a weeklong youth festival with Pope Francis and millions of young people from around the world which occurs every 3-4 years.
Founded by Pope John Paul II, the latest edition took place in August 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal. We were delighted that 30 pilgrims, 15+, from across the Diocese made the journey to Lisbon for this experience of prayer, fellowship, fun and the Universal Church!
The next WYD will take place in Seoul, South Korea in 2027. Pope Francis invited young people from across the world to Rome in 2025 for the jubilee year and we’ll be there! Stay tuned…
