At the end of the summer term the Diocesan Vicariate for Education invited Year 6 children in our diocesan primary schools to enter a short story competition. The stories were designed to be read by their fellow pupils in Year 3 and the writers were asked to use The Marvellous Adventures of Max and Droogo to illustrate the process of Reconciliation – as the “Devious Duo” cause mischief, acknowledge responsibility, say sorry, are forgiven and do something in recompense for the mischief they have caused!
The Vicariate team enjoyed reading all the stories and the following talented pupils were judged to be the winners:
First Prize:
- Stella from St Robert’s Primary School, Harrogate
Joint Second Prize:
- Finley from St Ignatius Primary School, Ossett
- Zara from Christ the King Primary School, Leeds
The stories may be viewed here: Max and Droogo Stories
Well done and thanks to everyone who wrote stories and/or drew pictures!
