Hinsley Hall, the Diocesan Pastoral and Conference Centre at Headingley in Leeds, has recently taken possession of a photograph dating from April 2005 when the members of the English and Scottish Province of the Order of St Augustine met there with the then Prior General of the Order, Fr Robert Prevost OSA (Front row centre on the photo).
Fr Prevost was based in Rome at the time and served as Prior General from 2001 until 2013. He then became Bishop of Chiclayo in Peru, where he had served as a missionary in the 1980s and 1990s. In 2023 Pope Francis appointed Bishop Prevost to the Roman Curia as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and he was created a Cardinal the same year.
The rest, as they say, is history!
