LIVING WITH DIGNITY: We Stand for Life!

Fr Paul Grogan and parishioners of all ages from Bradford’s Mary Mother of God Parish are taking a stand for life!

Launching the 40 Days for Life prayer campaign in the Diocese, they joined Leeds People for Life campaigners standing peaceably outside the Marie Stopes International (MSI) clinic on Barrack Road in Leeds, where abortions are performed.

Fr Paul said, ‘We sang hymns, reflected on the fact that we are all a bunch of sinners (just like St Matthew whose feast day we celebrated) but that God’s mercy is available to us all.’

As Catholics we believe in the sanctity and dignity of ALL human life from conception until natural death – not forgetting people in the middle of that journey! Those who stand outside the clinic are certainly NOT standing in judgment, but are praying equally for the unborn and for the women and their families whose own lives, mental and physical health and happiness are jeopardised when made to feel they have no choice –  ironically, dressed up as ‘pro-choice’.

40 Days for Life runs from 22 September to 31October with a peaceful prayer vigil from 7am to 7pm every day for 40 days on the pavement outside MSI, 45 Barrack Road, Leeds, LS7 4AB.
