St Mark’s Way, the northern ‘arm’ of the 2025 National Jubilee Walking Pilgrimage of Hope, starts at Leeds Cathedral on Saturday 6 September – and its first two days pass through our Diocese!
There’s still time for Diocese of Leeds Day Pilgrims to sign up to walk all or any part of those first two days.
Full details about being a Day Pilgrim here https://www.pilgrimways.org.uk/become-a-pilgrim-for-a-day
ALL will be welcome at the 8am Pilgrims’ Mass at Leeds Cathedral on Saturday 6 September 2025. At 9am, those pilgrims who have registered to walk will set off from the Cathedral, bound for the Jubilee Pilgrimage Church of St Austin in Wakefield, about 16 miles away …
… BUT … there’s no need to walk the whole day and the full mileage, as there are now morning and afternoon joining/leaving points which halve the distance …!

AND/OR
AFTERNOON – 8 miles: 1pm – walking from Woodlesford Railway Station (LS26 8GS), the path veers SW to continue on the TPT along a disused railway line and then the River Calder to St Austin’s Catholic Church, Wentworth Terrace, Wakefield (WF1 3QN) .
