St William’s Saves the Day!

Thanks to the ingenuity of pupils and staff, a regular charity fundraising event at St William’s Catholic Primary School in Bradford has been able to go ahead, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Bradford’s Covid-19 restrictions meant the school’s Mini Vinnies were unable to host one of their regular Macmillan Coffee Mornings, which are usually extremely well attended by parents, grandparents, and friends of the school, including parishioners who attend St William’s Catholic Church in the Parish of St Blaise. However, the children saved the day – rising to the challenge to find Covid-safe ways of collecting small change and organising penalty shoot-outs in the playground instead!

Head Teacher Fiona Parker said, ‘A huge thank you to all our fabulous fund raisers, for their impressive ‘faith in action’ to help those in need. I am so proud of the efforts of all of us here at St William’s to raise £262.88 for the wonderful Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.’

Well done to all concerned!
