St Paul’s Bookshop, Hinsley Hall

International publisher and retailer St Paul’s, which operates the bookshop at Hinsley Hall, has announced it is closing its Leeds shop from 30 May 2025 in order to concentrate on its online business.

Everything sold by the bookshop will now be available via https://stpauls.org.uk/ and delivered direct to customers.

The bookshop has been a fixture at Hinsley Hall since 1997, but in common with booksellers across the world, online business is now outperforming in-person sales.

We are grateful for the long and happy relationship between the Diocese of Leeds and the Society of St Paul and especially to Bookshop Manager, Catherine Whatmough, for her outstanding service over the past decade. St Paul’s sends heartfelt thanks to all their Hinsley Hall customers, colleagues and supporters and now looks forward to providing the same books and quality devotional items through its online store.

In announcing the closure, effective from 30 May 2025, the Society of St Paul said:

‘We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our valued customers and patrons for their loyal support over the years. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Diocese of Leeds for their invaluable support and partnership for more than 25 years. Their collaboration has been instrumental in our mission to serve the community, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment and assistance throughout this period.
We look forward to continuing to serve you through our online platform. All our usual products and services will continue to be available online at www.stpauls.org.uk, accessible 24 hours a day.’
