There is now less than one week to go before the arrival of the relics of St Bernadette in the Diocese of Leeds. The relics will leave Ampleforth Abbey in North Yorkshire on the afternoon of Monday 3rd October, arriving at Leeds Cathedral in the evening. They will leave Leeds the following afternoon and be taken to St Marie’s Cathedral in Sheffield.
This is the Timetable for the Events at Leeds Cathedral
Monday 3rd October 2022
- 6:30pm Arrival of the relics
- 7:00pm Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Marcus – livestreamed via www.leedscathedrallive.org.uk
- 8:15pm Private veneration
- 9:30pm Holy Hour with Rosary, Compline and Torchlight Procession
- 10:45pm Cathedral closes
Tuesday 4th October 2022
- 7:45am Cathedral opens
- 8:00am Holy Mass
- 9:00 – 11:45am School visits/Private veneration
- 12noon Rosary
- 12:30pm Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Marcus. Although open to everyone, this Mass will be particularly for visiting school groups – livestreamed via www.leedscathedrallive.org.uk
- 1:30 – 3:00pm School visits/Private veneration
- 3:00 – 4:00pm Liturgy of Anointing of the Sick (outside of Mass)
- 4:00 – 5:00pm Holy Hour with Rosary and Benediction, including the Blessing of the Sick.
- 5:00pm Departure of relics
- 5:30pm The normal Cathedral timetable resumes with Holy Mass
