In advance of today’s Feast of St Augustine of Canterbury, the Harehills Parish of St Augustine received a pastoral visit from Bishop Marcus.
Joining Parish Priest, Fr Ghebreyesus Woldekidan and Parish Deacon Alan Salada, the the Bishop presided at the 10am Holy Mass at the church on Sunday 25 May. Parishioners described it as ‘a wonderful celebration’ and listened intently to Bishop Marcus’ Homily and his instruction that we should never underestimate the influence of small deeds of kindness. The Bishop also gave a reminder that all people should be ready to welcome the Holy Spirit into our hearts at Pentecost.
Parishioners, members of the Parish’s various choirs, and the Parish Pastoral Council were all delighted to meet with Bishop Marcus after Mass, and said, ‘His visit brought great joy to all. May God the Almighty continuously bless and strengthen our Bishop in all his Diocesan apostolic services!’
