School Leaders Walking Group

Former Head Teachers and serving colleagues met for their Summer Term Walk on Friday 13 June at Robin Hoods Bay, walking from there to Whitby along a seven mile section of the Cleveland Way.

The glorious weather only served to enhance the great views, the marvellous exercise, the good conversation and the great company!

The Diocese of Leeds School Leaders Walking Group is open to all Heads and Leaders of schools and Trusts in the Diocese, as well as retired colleagues, some of whom are pictured below and include John Hutchinson, the former Head of St Theresa’s in Crossgates.

There are currently 21 members of the Walking Group. Some are very regular attendees, whilst others ‘dip in and out’ according to their professional and personal commitments. A walk is organised once each term and the route is always thoughtfully planned in terms of accessibility, distance and levels of experience.

Mark Brennan, who is the former Head of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Halifax and organises the WhatsApp Contact Group, said: ‘The next walk will be probably be some time in November. Anyone interested in coming along for a bit of rejuvenation, reflection and personal renewal should get in touch by contacting the Education Office via education.admin@dioceseofleeds.org.uk to be put in touch.’
