After a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Parish of St Mary’s, Batley once again hosted the annual Batley Torchlight Procession on the evening of Monday 10 October, led by Bishop Marcus. This year it had a new simplified route starting at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and ending at the nearby St Mary of the Angels’ Catholic Church.

In August 2022 the Bishop announced the appointment to the Cathedral Chapter of the Very Rev Fr Keiron Walker VF, Parish Priest of the Parish of St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross and Dean of the Bradford Deanery. Fr Walker was installed at Leeds Cathedral during Holy Mass, led by the Bishop, on Wednesday 12 October, the Memorial of St Wilfrid, Secondary Patron of our Diocese.
