Notre Dame Sixth Form College Alumnus Matty Lee is an Olympic Champion and one of the stars of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. On Monday 26 July, along with diving partner Tom Daly, the pair won Gold in the synchronised 10m platform event.
Having moved to London and teamed up with world champion diver Tom Daly in 2018 Matty competed with him in the FINA World Championships in 2019. The pair won a bronze medal in the men’s 10m synchronised diving event, and this achievement secured them a place in the same event for Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics.
Matty studied at Notre Dame in Leeds from 2014 to 2016. In addition to training for – and competing in – various European and World diving championships, he completed a BTEC in sport and passed with flying colours.
Heartfelt congratulations to Matty on his Olympic Gold Medal and a truly memorable world-beating performance.
