MacMillan’s a ‘Must’ for Music Lovers!

SIR JAMES MACMILLAN ‘IN CONVERSATION’ WITH RICHARD MANTLE OBE

Leeds International Organ Festival is delighted to welcome the world-famous composer Sir James MacMillan to Leeds Cathedral on Tuesday 11th June, when he will be interviewed by Richard Mantle, General Director of Opera North.

Sir James, who is celebrating his 60th birthday this year, made his mark on the international scene in 1990 with a BBC Proms commission.  He has since received commissions from orchestras, choirs and soloists around the world with pieces being sung for royal and national services and events.  His works span everything from opera to Sacred Music, for which his Catholic faith has been an influence and inspiration.

The evening begins at 6.30 pm with a performance in the Cathedral by the children’s choir of Notre Dame University (USA) and the choir of Leeds Cathedral.

Tickets are available on the door or from Eventbrite (Students have free admission with a valid student card): https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sir-james-macmillan-in-conversation-with-richard-mantle-obe-tickets-58720280941?aff=efbeventtix&fbclid=IwAR3hzVYS20a1r5tds8jMgEfQOy57qPOG0v01YKg_VeoAwBQ1Z32cLspgnx0
