The Right Reverend Marcus Stock, Bishop of Leeds has prayed for the repose of the soul of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and has issued this message of condolence:
‘Together with the lay faithful, religious and clergy of the Diocese of Leeds, I express our condolences and prayers for Her Majesty the Queen on the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip. During this Easter week, our hearts and minds are centred in faith on the resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ from the dead.
We pray therefore for the repose of Prince Philip’s soul and for the comfort of all the members of the Royal Family in the hope which this faith brings.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.’
