Holy Week at Home: a Message from Bishop Marcus

Those of us who are participating in the live-streaming of Mass and other Devotions from Leeds Cathedral now number a ‘virtual congregation’ of many thousands: from New Zealand, Australia, India, Italy – and of course from right across our own Diocese of Leeds.

You Tube’s ‘Live Chat’ facility is being well used by people who, at the appropriate times, wish to join in with ‘Amen’, make the Sign of Peace, and offer prayers of intercession for loved ones affected by the present emergency (and ‘Hide Chat’ is easily selected for those who prefer not to see this feature).

To help people participate online, the words of hymns and the Prayer to make a Spiritual Communion are also available here Live Streaming of Sunday Mass_05.04.2020 as a link from the You Tube channel: www.leedscathedrallive.org.uk

Not all households have ‘online access’, though, so as we approach the holiest week of the Church’s year, Bishop Marcus hopes for the assistance of those keeping in touch with family, friends and fellow parishioners by telephone and by post, in communicating his blessings to all the faithful, along with his guidance on How to Participate in the Celebrations of Holy Week from Home
