Feast of the Holy Innocents

Today, 28 December, is the Feast of the Holy Innocents: the babies massacred by King Herod in his search to find and kill the Christ Child.

On this day, we also remember the millions of innocent lives ended through abortion. In compassion, we also stand with the women who suffer physical and psychological harm after having broken the strongest bond known in nature: between a mother and her child.

We also pray for fathers, families and wider society increasingly fractured and damaged by a growing disrespect for the dignity and sanctity of all human life.
