Laudato Si’ Mini-Pilgrimage for the Autumn Season of Creation!

On the Feast of St Francis of Assisi
ALL are welcome to attend our Diocese of Leeds Laudato Si’ Mini-Pilgrimage for Autumn 2025: celebrating ‘FOUR Seasons of Creation’ in this Holy Year of Jubilee!
The Blessing of Animals Liturgy and Service of Thanksgiving at St Benedict’s Garforth will go ahead at 11am – but owing to high winds, heavy rain and muddy conditions, the walking part of this Mini-Pilgrimage is cancelled!
This is a fully-risk-assessed diocesan event, so please sign up for this mini-pilgrimage by emailing communications@dioceseofleeds.org.uk
As usual, the location is easily accessible by public transport, being just three minutes’ walk away from Garforth Railway Station (there are trains at 10.16am and 10.30 am from Leeds Station).
The Pilgrimage starts at 11am at the CAFOD LiveSimply-Awarded Parish of St Benedict, Garforth. Parish Priest Fr Henry Longbottom will officiate at the Blessing of Animals Service and Harvest Thanksgiving.
Bring a packed lunch and come equipped for a countryside walk in the afternoon, because after the Liturgies (and weather permitting!) there will short (approximately 3 miles) Laudato Si’ Mini-Pilgrimage walk to appreciate the beautiful rural environment and local Catholic history and heritage of the parish!

St Francis of Assisi: pray for us
