St Matthew’s Gospel Unlocked
using voices from the Diocese of Leeds
St Matthew’s Gospel Unlocked is a recording of the entire Gospel of St Matthew using readers of all ages and backgrounds belonging to parishes, schools and institutions throughout the Diocese of Leeds.
A response to the COVID-19 Lockdown, the project has involved over 150 people who have contributed by recording passages at home using mobile phones, tablets and computers. Their separate recordings have been stitched together to form a series of 11 podcasts of roughly equal length. You can listen to these via the menu on right.
St Matthew’s Gospel Unlocked is a God Who Speaks: Year of the Word initiative using the NRSV (Catholic Edition) translation of St Matthew’s Gospel. The Diocese is grateful to the publishers of NRSV for their generous permission for us to use their translation free of charge.
