Job Description: Duty Manager/Acting General Manager at Hinsley Hall, the Diocese of Leeds Pastoral & Conference Centre
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer
5 x 8 hour shifts per week over 7 days
Meals on duty
Negotiable Salary paid monthly
Principal Objectives:
To manage and work alongside the Hinsley Hall team to provide excellent Customer Service in Reception, Bar, Dining Room and Conference facilities
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- To handle guest bookings, queries, arrivals and departures with patience, warmth and accuracy, ensuring a great Customer experience
- To manage Meeting Room bookings, set up (including IT) and queries, ensuring the Customer is provided with everything required to run their event smoothly
- To run a small bar as and when required; to maintain appropriate stock levels and place orders with suppliers when necessary
- To be able to handle cash and credit cards as appropriate
- To be responsible for the smooth running of the service of all meals in the Dining Room and Meeting Rooms, ensuring good communication with the Head Chef and Kitchen Team
- To be responsible for the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Team, ensuring maximum bedroom availability and cleanliness through good stock management and ordering
- To process accurate Payroll information on a monthly basis in liaison with HR and Finance Departments
- To process Goods-In on a timely and accurate basis, in conjunction with the Finance Department
- To ensure monthly Food and Bar stocks are taken in a timely and accurate manner, and collated results passed to the Finance Department
- To oversee the weekly Staff rotas ensuring fairness and equitability but mindful of business needs
- To maximise revenue and profitability whilst ensuring good Customer and Staff Care
- To respond to Guest Feedback and Messages on both booking platforms in a timely and appropriate manner
Essential Attributes:
- Passion, warmth and enthusiasm to deliver great customer experiences
- A good level of attention to detail
- Computer literacy including the HOP system and booking platforms
- Physically fit and in good general health
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks
- Experience of Customer Service in a Catering/Hotel environment
- Bar experience
- Experience of teamwork and a team player
- Organised, focussed and methodical
- Able to manage a diverse team of people in a professional manner through leadership, example, direction, guidance and development
