Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage – New Post of Executive Manager

Following consultation with the Director of the Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage, Fr Phillip Hall, Bishop Marcus has announced that he has appointed Mrs Kim O’Connor to the new post of Executive Manager for the Pilgrimage.

Kim has considerable experience of the work involved in the medical, logistical and organisational aspects of pilgrimages to Lourdes. Currently the Chair of the British Lourdes Medical Association, Kim first visited Lourdes in 2004 with the Leeds diocesan pilgrimage and was the Lead Nurse for our annual diocesan pilgrimage from 2011 to 2019. Additionally, in 2013 she joined the British Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta pilgrimage and is now their Head Nurse. For the last five years, Kim has travelled with the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese on the ‘Jumbulance’ as well!

By accompanying these three groups, Kim has experienced different ways of running, organising, caring and managing pilgrimages to Lourdes.

On making the announcement Bishop Marcus said ‘I am very grateful to Kim for her willingness to take on this voluntary but very important role’.

The 82nd Leeds Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes is scheduled to take place from Friday 1 to Thursday 7 July 2022
