Christ the King Receives a ‘Royal’ Visit

On the First Sunday of Advent, the Parish of Christ the King and Holy Family in West Leeds was honoured with a visit by HM Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Mr Ed Anderson CBE, who attended the 11am Mass at Christ the King church and stayed for refreshments with the parishioners afterwards.

The Lord Lieutenant, who is a Catholic, commented on the vibrant diversity of the parish and said how uplifting the Mass had been.  He praised the Homily given by Parish Priest, Father Neil Byrne, as well as complimenting the organist, Mr Peter Siney, and the congregation on the standard of singing. He also thanked all the volunteers who contribute in many different ways to the life of the parish.

Mr Anderson became the monarch’s representative in West Yorkshire in 2018 and retires as Lord Lieutenant of the county in a few weeks’ time, on 22 December.
