Celebrating 65 Years of Catholic Education in Clayton

Bishop Marcus visited St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School in Clayton, Bradford, to celebrate Mass on the school’s Patronal Feast Day (13 June) in thanksgiving for 65 years of Catholic education.  The Bishop then blessed a beautiful scheme of St Anthony-themed stained glass windows designed by the children in a competition to commemorate the occasion.

After Mass, the children performed a reflective dance routine and the festivities continued throughout the day with a picnic (indoors due to the rain!) and an ice-cream van.  Each child also received a specially-designed commemorative T-shirt.

Later, and in spite of the weather, almost 400 people attended an evening party where 65 prizes were raffled: one for each year that the school has been open.
