Catholic Bradford & Keighley LIVE on BBC Radio 4 for Advent 2

Sunday Worship, BBC Radio 4 ‘s flagship religious worship programme, will be broadcast LIVE from Bradford at 8.10 am on 4 December, the Second Sunday of Advent.

The programme features contributors from across our Bradford, Keighley, Shipley, Bingley and Clayton parishes and ‘Family of Schools’ in the Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust (BCWCAT).

Reflecting on what it means to be a Child of God with responsibility for shining as the Light of Christ in what can be a dark world are 16-year-old Nikola from Keighley (a member of ‘The Twelve’, the Bishop’s Youth Leadership Team for the Diocese of Leeds) and the BCWCAT CEO Dr Andrew Morley. Also taking part in the programme is Madeline Woods, Lay Chaplain at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s School and chorister Fran Halewood.

The location for the programme will be St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Pakington Street, Bradford – and the liturgy will be led by Fr Anthony Rosso (Parish Priest of Our Lady and St Joseph’s Parish in Ingrow, and Priest Chaplain at Holy Family School in Keighley).

The Advent hymns and choral music will be led by the children and young people from the five choral groups which together make up the Bradford Catholic Youth Choir (part of the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Progamme, working with the Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust). The choirs will be conducted by Caius Lee and accompanied on the organ by David Grealy.

If you would like to take part in the liturgy and join in with the responses and the hymn singing, then please arrive at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pakington Street, Bradford BD5 7LD by 7.30am – or listen live / listen again via: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001fvnj
