Cardinal Heenan High School Hosts a Service for Peace in Ukraine

On Wednesday 23 March, the staff and students of Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School were delighted to host their friends and future classmates from their partner primary schools in North Leeds; Sacred Heart, St Paul’s, The Immaculate Heart of Mary, St Urbans, St Augustine’s and Holy Name for a Service for Peace led by the school’s Chaplain, Fr Henry Longbottom.

They worshipped together, praying for peace in Ukraine, singing their hearts out and saying a decade of the rosary to Our Lady of Unfailing Help.

Everyone felt It was good to have the chance to get together as a body of Catholic schools and every single student involved was a credit to themselves, their schools and their parishes. They were bowled over by the generosity of their community in collecting donations for children who are desperately in need due to the war.
